Adison Butler
A Different Kind of Lesson
How one young entrepreneur is learning business from the ground up
Most kids learn about money with an allowance, but Adison Butler chose a different path. At 11 years old, a fifth grader at Liberty Pines Academy, Adison isn’t just learning how to save and spend. She’s learning how businesses are built, how money moves, and what it takes to turn an idea into something real, and that journey started at home.
Her father, Rhett Butler, knows firsthand what it means to build something from nothing. After opening his first chiropractic office in 2010, he worked through the long hours, challenges, and uncertainty that come with entrepreneurship – eventually growing to three successful locations across the Jacksonville area.
Adison watched it all. She saw the work behind the success and naturally started asking questions. About money. About business. About how it all works.
Instead of giving her a typical way to earn a few dollars, Rhett gave her something more meaningful. He had her begin tracking stocks, monitoring the market, and reporting back on what she saw. It was a simple exercise with a powerful impact. Adison wasn’t just learning. She was thinking differently.
So when she told her dad earlier this year that she wanted to start a business, he saw an opportunity to take that learning even further.

Building Something that Stands Out
In January, Adison sat down with her father and his friend McCord to talk through ideas. They landed on power washing, but Rhett knew that alone wouldn’t be enough. It’s a very crowded space. Anyone can buy equipment and get started, but if this was going to work, it had to be different.
That lesson came from experience. Over the years, Rhett realized that real growth comes from offering something others don’t and backing it with strong execution.
Adison took that to heart.
After doing her own research, she discovered a gap most people overlook. Many power washing companies struggle with taller structures. Upper siding, rooflines, and overhangs are often difficult to reach and frequently left partially cleaned.
That insight led to a simple but powerful idea. What if they could clean what others couldn’t?
Bold City Drone Power Washing was born from that question, using drone technology to reach areas that traditional methods struggle to access. It wasn’t just creative. It was smart.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Rhett made one thing clear from the beginning. He would support the business, but Adison would be involved in the process. All of it.
Today, she’s learning the financial side of running a business, understanding costs, revenue, and what it takes to grow. But the most valuable lessons are happening outside.
You’ll often find her walking through the neighborhood with her dad, introducing the business and talking to potential customers. It’s not easy. Some people aren’t interested. Some say no. That’s where Rhett’s advice comes in.
“Some will, some won’t… so what. Next.”
It’s a lesson in resilience, and one she’s learning early. And it’s working.
Every few conversations lead to an opportunity. Sometimes it’s a homeowner with a hard-to-clean roofline or upper siding. Other times, it’s someone who wants their driveway, patio, or exterior to look like new again. And occasionally, it’s a business owner looking for a better solution for areas most crews can’t reach.
A Connection Close to Home
What makes this story even more meaningful for Beacon Lake residents is that Adison’s connection to the community runs close to home.
Her grandparents, Mark and Cara Pond, are proud residents of Beacon Lake and have had a front-row seat to her growing entrepreneurial spirit. Don’t be surprised if, at some point, you see Adison walking the neighborhood with them, introducing herself, talking about the business, and maybe even asking if your home could use a little attention. It’s all part of the process, and she’s embracing every step of it.
For Adison, this isn’t just about starting a business. It’s about learning how to connect with people, build relationships, and take initiative within a community that already feels like family.
